Preparing for a first advice meeting in Wales

A first meeting with Foxmere Investment Counsel is a fact-find, not a product pitch. We need a clear picture of income, spending, dependents, existing pensions, and any debts that shape your choices. Incomplete paperwork slows the process more than any awkward question.

Bring recent bank statements covering a typical month, pension valuations, ISA summaries, and details of life cover or income protection. If a spouse or partner shares finances, both people should attend when possible. Decisions made for a household rarely stick when only one person has heard the reasoning.

Expect questions about how you would feel if markets fell shortly after investing, and about gifts or inheritances you may give or receive. These are not idle curiosities; they shape risk recommendations and cash buffers.

We will explain fees in pounds before any advice letter is issued. If we are not the right firm for your situation — for example, if you need specialist later-life lending or complex trust work — we will say so and point you toward the right profession rather than stretch our remit.
